Cable cars over forested hills near Taipei in low cloud

I live in Taipei, and I have practised qigong since I was a child. I learned it from my grandfather, through practice rather than books. He practised every morning without exception, in the garden when the weather allowed and in the narrow hallway outside the kitchen when it did not.

I came to books only later, to understand what I already had in my hands. This site is where I write about it: short pieces on qigong, on breathing, and on the old Daoist ideas behind them. Each one grows out of one of my books.
